Parenting children can often feel like a maze, full of blind spots and connections to our earlier histories. Parental Pathways recognises the benefits of providing on-going psychotherapeutic support in maintaining and nurturing parent / child relationships. On completion of the 12 week Lighthouse © MBT – Parenting Programme, parents have the opportunity to access continued skills support in the form of Mentalization Based Therapy sessions. These sessions are designed to consolidate the valuable insights and skills gained in the Lighthouse © MBT – Parenting Programme. While each group is unique and consideration is given to meeting specific needs of each group, they typically involve a commitment to weekly group sessions extending over several months. Developing renewed confidence and competence as parents by engaging more fully in attachment relationships is a central goal in providing parental support groups.
